Heretics Lost is a rock musical mini-series in radio-play format. Written by artist John P. Hogan and produced by Hogan and David Reich, Heretics Lost is available for download as a podcast and will also be aired in three installments on The Acousmatic Theater Hour on WFMU starting August 24th, 2009.
The story of Heretics Lost follows the adventures of a group of seven friars who were chosen by The Pope to travel to the “New World” to convert the natives of the land to Christianity. Unfortunately for the friars, they soon find themselves stranded by a mutinous ship’s crew, and left on an island populated by Bacchus-worshipping women. This situation creates all sorts of ethical and existential crises for the Brothers, but no crisis of conscience can compare to the horror of the “One True Native” of the island; a mysterious monster!
